I'm back again...
Oh, after not writing for over a year...and for over a year before that, I have been discouraged in the blog world, but I think I am coming back and for good this time! This time will be a little different...Mommy has taken over the keyboard (sorry, Emmy) and my hope is to write down the happenings in our house. I'm sure most of my postings will be about my precious kiddos, but we'll see where life takes me!
It does make me sad that I don't have so much of Emily's last 2 years documented in some way and I am realizing that I am forgetting so many of the priceless things that she has said and done. The things that come out of her mouth really do make me laugh at some point everyday. I am so thankful, Emmy, for the personality God has given you. I am in love with your sweetness, tenderness, and humor. I also can't believe how smart you are. Just so mommy and daddy can remember, these are some things you have said and done lately...
* "Daddy, you're just tricking me."
* "I haven't gotten enough love today!" (Yah, right!)
* You really want 20 snuggles ALL the time. (We limit it to 3 before school, bed, etc. & 20 when you are picked up from school, wake up in the morning, etc.)
* You really love the Disney princesses. Even though you haven't seen the movies, you love to dress up like them and you want to buy anything you see with their picture on it.
* You love to play "super bouncy ball", dance to the song "Honey, Honey" (from the Mamma Mia soundtrack), color, "cook" blueberry muffins and PB&J's, work puzzles, hop on your blue Dora bouncy ball, do the monkey bars at the park, and make "centerpieces" for our kitchen table.
* You are becoming more independent and love to dress yourself.
* You seem to really like preschool and your finally went potty at school and participated in motor skills! ;)
* You are the BEST big sister to your "bubba", Grant.
This list in no way does justice to the many, many memorable things you do and say...hopefully mommy will stay on top of it now!
Speaking of "Bubba", our sweet baby Grant was born on June 8. Wow, he is already 4 months and 1 week old. Where in the world does time go??? To those of you who know how sad I was when I was told I was carrying a boy (because Emily wasn't going to be able to have a sister and I already had a closet FULL of cutie girl things), well, things have really changed in my world. I am head over heels in love with my little man. I prayed for a little Seth (mild-mannered, sweet, kind, etc.) and I know God answered my prayers. I just took him for his 4 month visit and he weighed 14 lbs., 12 oz. and was 25 3/4 in. long. Grant just makes me smile. He is sleeping great at night...typically from 8:30pm-6:30am. He is starting to "talk" and giggle more. He loves sucking on his hands and anything in his hands (he really won't take a paci and he hasn't found his thumb...hopefully Emily won't teach him!), grabbing toys, standing up tall, and reading books.
