Pink Bows and Tiny Toes

Emily was so exctited about dressing up like a cowgirl!  She wanted the whole get-up.  We went to Cavender's to shop (we had store credit) and she had a blast trying on boots, hats, and picking out a shirt.  Who knew she would have liked it so much.  Isn't she so stinking adorable...

I think Grant is a fan of black beans...

Daddy was out of town, so Mommy attempted the joint bath...good idea until it is time to get out...

Ben Lewis, Emily's friend down the street, got a new jeep for Christmas and came driving over today.  Emily hopped in and took it for a spin.  I have to say, she is a pretty good driver.

Don't know where the month of Jan. went.  I didn't even get a picture of Grant on his 7 month birthday.  And, I don't really know his stats for the month either.  Sorry, buddy.  Mommy loves you.

For New Year's, we had our friends Kurt, Melody, and Lily Harris and Gabi, Ben, and Grace Barrick over to hang out.  The Harrises hung out with us last year and supposedly enjoy our low-key way of celebrating the New Year, so they came back again this year. ;)  Gabi's husband had to work so she came over with the kids.  We cooked dinner (shrimp...I love having shrimp on New Year's, but need to find a recipe I like...and use medium or large shrimp instead of jumbo...), and then we played the Wii.  So fun.  We laughed a lot, especially at a really great ski jump of mine. ;)  Ben slept in Emily's room until it was time to go...it was so funny listening to them in the monitor talking.  It took them forever to fall asleep because they were too busy playing and running out of the room.  I don't think Daddy will let another boy sleep in her room until she is married...

These pictures were from Dec. 29th (I know...I am very behind!).  He could sit up before this, but not for too long and was a little shaky, but around the 29th, I felt like I could walk away and he would sit for quite a while. 

Emily gave Seth and I "lovies" to sleep with.  Introducing..."Gobbles" and "Pinky"! 

Daddy and Emily are the 2 family members with green thumbs.  Mommy's thumb is black and we're not sure about Grant's yet.  Emily loves, loves, loves to plant flowers with daddy.  She helped plant pansies and snapdragons with Seth...she dug little holes, got the plants out of the carton things, put them in the ground, covered them with dirt and watered.  Seth is so great with her and teaches her so much...

On Dec. 28th, I looked in the video monitor and saw my little guy sleeping on his tummy.  No fuss, no stress...just peacefully asleep.  He now will either sleep on his side or flip to his tummy right away. This is so different from Emily...when she started to flip on her tummy, she cried quite a bit and it became such a stressor to the first-time mommy.
