Emily's 1st Dance Recital

Image
Sniff, sniff...I can't believe she is old enough to take a dance class.  We signed her up at my gym, Lifetime Fitness.  I thought it would be a perfect class...inexpensive, very laid-back, etc.  I thought if she liked it, then we could find a dance studio somewhere to continue classes after this one.  Well, she LOVED it and we enrolled in Heather Stolle's Dance Studio in Stone Oak for classes this summer.  (Her friend, Elena, is taking classes with her...more on this later!)  Anyways, they did a little recital at the gym and it was precious.  Her first official recital outfit, hair in a bun, and all! ;) Faith, Ava, Emily, & ??? If you haven't noticed, Emily is way into princesses.  Here are a few pictures to capture the love.

Chapel Story at UUMC

Image
Emily's 3 year-old class did the chapel story the last week of school.  She was a little "nervous" about going up on stage, so she and another little girl, Ava, walked with Ms. Audrie.  Emily's friend, Kendall. Ms. Audrie

Emily's Letter to Tanner

Emily is really into writing these days.  Of course, I am her momma, but I think she is doing so fantastic.  I love that she has such an interest, so we are trying to encourage a lot of writing.  I helped her sound out words and she wrote almost all the letters.

Emily Quotes

Image
I know I am a little biased, but I think Emily says the funniest things.  She is so clever and quick.  Her humor must come from her daddy. A funny quote: The other day, we were in DSW and I took her potty.  As I was lifting her on the potty, I happened to say, "Emily, I love you so much...you are my little peanut."  And she responded with "Mommy, I love you so much...you are my little almond."  I burst out laughing...it was so funny and sweet. A sweet quote: While we were eating dinner, Emily said, "Mommy, I have a secret for you."  So she got up, came over, and whispered in my ear "Mommy, thank you for doing the laundry and for making breakfast, lunch, and dinner."  Just what a Mommy needs to hear at the end of a long day.  Thank you, Emily, for being so sweet and grateful.  I love the heart God has given you.

Grant's Baby Dedication & Mother's Day

Image
May 9 was a special day for me.  It was Mother's Day and the day we dedicated Grant to Jesus at church.  The day couldn't have started any better...Seth let me sleep in and then he picked up breakfast tacos for me and my mom.  Yum.  We got ready and headed for church.  It was our family, my mom (sorry, mom, I don't know where your picture went!), Seth's parents, and Gran. Our good friends, Kurt and Melody Harris also dedicated there little girl, Lily, at the same time. I really thought the dedication was so sweet.  I got a little teary-eyed as Roger (our pastor) prayed over Grant.  It was so special.  And look at our sweet Emily praying for Grant... After church we went to eat at Auden's Kitchen for lunch...  and then headed back to our house to hang out.  Emily had decided to make me a cake for Mother's Day, so she and daddy put the finishing touches on it...lots and lots of sprinkles!!! We opened a few cards and presents and I spe...

11 Months...1 Month to go!

Grant, you are precious to us! *He can crawl!!!  He started last Wed. (April 28th).  I saw him take 4 "steps".  I left the next day for my FL trip, but supposedly, he never slowed down.  He is all over the place and I love it!  I may not love it for long, but I love seeing how happy his is knowing he can get around and get into his sister's toys. :) *He has 2 baby bottom front teeth! *He gives the best open-mouth kisses. (Picture to come!) *He is clapping!!!  When you say "Yea!", he claps.  If Emily claps, he claps.  So cute. (Picture to come!) *We think he is signing "more".  It looks like a clap, but I think he is meaning it for "more".?. (Picture to come!) *I love that he will hold my fingers now.  It sounds silly, but I would try to have him grab my finger while I was singing to him at night, but he never would.  He does now and for some crazy reason, I love it. *He can get from sitting up to crawling and from crawling to ...
