Happy 4th!

Happy Fourth of July! It's funny and a little ironic that I begin my post with that, because I refused to say it all day yesterday. I'll repeat most anything Mommy or Daddy or Grandpa or Gigi or Pops or Grammy or Grampa Billy says, but I would not say "Happy Fourth of July," "Happy Fourth," "Happy July Fourth," or "Happy Independence Day." My Daddy is sure it has nothing to do with my patriotism; it was just a funny game I played!

I had a great day! I woke up and helped Mommy and Daddy get packed up, then we loaded in the car and made the drive from San Antonio to San Marcos. We picked up Grandpa and Gigi and drove to Martindale for the July 4th parade. I loved it! First I got to visit with the Roberts family, and then Gigi gave me a flag to wave during the parade. I saw a police car, fire trucks, old cars, horses, kids on bikes, and trailers. And they all threw candy!!! I loved waving my flag and waving hello to everybody who came by! When the parade got to the end of Main Street, it turned around and came back by. That time, a nice man and his wife invited me (and Mommy and Daddy) to ride on the back of his golf cart--so I was in the parade too!! I waved to everybody we passed! By the way, check out my outfit! I was adorable in my red, white, and blue!
After the parade, we went back to Grandpa and Gigi's for lunch. Mimi, Gran, Jake, and Bill all came over and Grandpa barbecued chickens. After my nap, I played for a while and gave Rowdy and Willy a few more treats.

Then we drove to the "ribber." I loved the river! Mommy and Daddy weren't sure, because I've been a little hesitant in the pool this summer--even my baby pool in the backyard. I wasn't hesitant in the river though! I walked around, picked up rocks and threw them, looked at minnows and baby frogs, and watched Daddy and Grandpa and Gigi swim (Mommy hung out with me). I liked seeing leaves and bubbles float by in the water, and I liked when Daddy picked me up way up high by my arms and then let me splash my feet in the water! One person I wasn't sure about was Charlie, the man who lives in the house next door to Grandpa and Gigi's river lot. He was nice to me, but kind of loud when he talked and laughed. He was wearing his American flag swimsuit and an old cowboy hat with a big turkey feather stuck in band. I wasn't sure what to think about him, but I did like his puppy dog.

After all that fun, we went back to Grandpa and Gigi's and I had dinner and a bath, then got packed up and came back home to go to sleep. It was such a fun day, and I slept like a rock!
Love you all!
