Thank you Grandpa and Gigi!
Here I am in my birthday present from Grandpa and Gigi! I love it--it has my name on it! I love sitting in it, and I love getting in and out all by myself. Mama and Dada are a little worried about me when I get out though, because I don't turn around and back down, oh no, I go straight down and catch myself with my hands so I'm ready to crawl! They put a pillow on the floor just for a little extra padding! Thank you for my chair!
I had so much fun during Grandpa and Gigi's visit last weekend! They came in on Friday and Mama and I went to pick them up at the airport while Dada manned the grill. We had dinner, and then I hit the sack.Saturday morning was really fun, but it was unusual! Instead of leisurely eating breakfast at home, they got me dressed and we all piled in the car and headed to Great Falls National Park. We had a picnic breakfast under the trees, and it was so much fun. I really love being outside like that--I like to hear the birds and see the green trees and blue sky.
After breakfast, we did a little hiking. We saw the waterfalls, and I got to see my first deer (other than the one on the wall in the basement)! It was awesome! I was in a backpack on Dada's back. I may make him and Mama take me hiking again soon!

Saturday afternoon we just hung around the house. It was nice and relaxing! While I took a nap, the grown-ups made homemade ice cream and Dada made a blueberry pie. (More about the ice cream later!) That night, Mama and Dada went on a date and Grandpa and Gigi took care of me and even put me to bed. I did fine!
Sunday, I went to Sunday school and then home to take a nap. When I woke up, we went to lunch, and that afternoon went to the pool! I didn't like the pool as much this time as I have before--I just didn't feel all that great.
After the pool, though, Grandpa gave me my first taste of ice cream! At first, I really wasn't too sure about it--it was SO COLD! I've never felt anything that cold before, especially not in my mouth! But I really liked it! I kept looking away like I didn't want it, but then I would turn and open my mouth wide for another bite! It was yummy!
Monday we just hung around, but we did go to a good lunch at the new Clyde's restaurant in Ashburn. Gigi walked me around the restaurant when I got fidgety, and we had fun. I was sure sad to see them leave on Monday afternoon--I can't wait until I live in Texas closer to all my family!I love y'all,
Emily Ann
