Red, White, & Blue

This was my 2nd Fourth of July to celebrate! This year was a little more action-packed than last! I really enjoyed the 4th last year with Grammy, but it was a little "low-key", according to Grammy. I remember laying in her arms on the couch and we listened to these loud banging noises outside. She kept calling them fireworks...

This year, Mama and Dada told me how much I have grown up since last year! I wasn't swaddled like last year...I had on big girl clothes...jean shorts and a red-checked shirt. Speaking of clothes, Mama and Dada bought me some new shoes today! Mama has looked around for some that were my size (4-5) and she found them today! She calls them Crocs. They may have a funny name, but they sure are comfortable! They are a little big, but Dada says there's growing room.
We went to a Fourth of July celebration at Claude Moore Park in Sterling. I met a clown and he made me a balloon dog. I ended up sharing him with another little boy, because his popped and he was really sad about it, so Mama said it would be nice to let him have mine. I agreed. After the clown, we just walked around a bit. There were really long lines for pony rides and tractor rides...I think I heard Mama and Dada saying they were glad I wasn't big enough for that yet! Dada did find some sheep by a fence and he took me right up to them! They looked a little like puppies, so I told him so. I told him "bow-wow-wow!"
After we walked around, we decided to have a picnic lunch. I tried Dada's barbeque sandwich! I liked it, but I preferred my peaches, peas, strawberry bar, and tater tots Mama packed! What a random lunch, Mama! I was fun to sit on the blanket and play with Dada.

I pretty much just played at home the rest of the day. I asked to go to the pool, but the weather didn't cooperate, Mama said.

I did hear those fireworks again this year. But, I am such a big girl, that I just slept in my crib though it all. I wonder when Mama and Dada will take me to see fireworks, not just hear them??? Maybe next year...

Oh, by the way, I drink from sippy cups now! No more bottles "ba-bas" for me!

Love you,
Emily Ann
