HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BOY!!!

Wow...my little man is one.  Grant, you are mommy, daddy, and sissy's favorite little man.  There is just something about you and your little personality that is just magnetic...we just love being around you, bubba.  I can't believe how fast this year has gone.  It makes me sad to think that all your years might pass this soon...I am really trying to treasure every single bit of you.  We love you, Grant, and can't wait to see what your 2nd year of life will look like!
Some of the many things I am noticiting about you now...
*You are a great sleeper...still 2 naps a day and you sleep great at night (7:30-7:00)
*You are a great eater...except for not drinking milk anymore...ugh!
*You like to dance...you shake your head to music!
*You are a daddy's boy! 
*You like to sit and play with the grass.
*You like to put baby wipes into your mouth...any chance you get you snatch one and stuff it in!
*You like to have your legs and back scratched.
*You are a fast crawler and your like when people chase you!
*You like to say "hi" to people and wave...it sounds more like "IIIIIII!!!"
*You wave "bye-bye" too!
*You love to play in the pool...splash, put your face in, get thrown in the air...

On your big day, we woke you up by singing Happy Birthday to you!  You were asleep in our closet because Grammy, Aunt Betsy, Aunt Jenny & Uncle Jason, and Drew were at our house for your birthday.  You had a cold that day too. 

It was a busy morning because Daddy and I went to my doctor to find out if the new baby was a boy or girl!  (More on that on a different post!).  Once we found out we were having a BOY we headed home to continue to celebrate you!  I was excited that we found out we were having a boy on your birthday...I think you guys will be great buddies. 
We all went to lunch at Bigz...it started raining and we had fun watching Emily and Drew play with the umbrella in the rain. 
After lunch, your napped, and then woke up to your party!  Grammy, Betsy, Jenny, Jason, Drew, Pops, Gigi, Grandpa, Gran, Aunt Joan, and "Uncle" Bill came over to celebrate! 



We had dips, taco salad, and cupcakes!  You loved, loved, loved your cupcake.  I have never seen a baby eat their cake like you!  And you signed "more" with your hands when you were finished.  So cute.

We opened your presents (tent/tunnel, clothes, toy cars, Mickey Mouse airplane, bouncy turtle, toolbox, money for college savings, baseball cap, shoes, hammer bench, placemat, and onesie).

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Can you believe that I'm one year old? I really can't--this year has really flown by! I'm sorry it's been longer than a week since my last post--I've just been so busy planning my birthday party, which is this Saturday at Potomack Lakes Sportsplex Playground. My mama's been working her tail off too, getting everything ready and organized! Today was wonderful (except for about an hour and a half right in the middle--more on that later)! I woke up this morning and Dada was still here--I woke up to him and Mama singing Happy Birthday to me! After that, Mama and I hung out and Dada went to work. We had a really fun morning--I lotioned my skin and brushed my hair, had breakfast and a bottle, and played. After that, I took a nice, long two-hour nap. So relaxing! Trip to the big "D"

Well, I am back from Dallas. I had a really good time seeing all my family! Mama and Dada kept me really busy! On the flight to Dallas, I was proud of myself...I did really well for being a kid who likes to crawl and move a lot! Dada walked me up and down the aisles and I made a few friends while I was at it! All kinds of people think I am pretty cute and I have to agree with them! When I got to Grammy's house on Thursday, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! There was so much floor to crawl on!!! Even though it was hardwood, I surprised everyone as I went in circles around the kitchen and through the bedrooms. I found I new game I really like...I find something with a smooth bottom and while I am on my knees, I push it around on floor (like I did with the laundry basket!). Very fun game! Oh...and I loved seeing Maggie...aka "baaboo". (That's what I call puppies right now!) We were good playmates for the weekend. I also went swimming! I really was a great swimmer ...

More Broccoli Please!!

Tonight was such a big night...I just had to write to tell everyone about it! After I finished my dinner of chicken, cheese, bananas, grapes, and watermelon I played a little on the floor. Mama and Dada were fixing their dinner...salmon, wild rice, and broccoli. They sat down on the couch to eat while I played, but I started smelling something quite delicious from their plates! I stood up by Mama and started reaching for her food, in hopes she would share some with me. I really wanted to try the "adult" food. First, she gave me some rice on her fork and I loved it. She gave me more and more, but I noticed something green on her plate...it looked like a tree. I reached for it and she said "I don't think you are going to like this" but she let me try it anyways. I LOVE BROCCOLI!!! It had a little lemon juice on it and I thought it was great! I kept asking...whining...reaching for more and she was so happy that I liked it so much.
