Happy 4th Birthday, Emily!
Wow, our baby girl is 4 years old. Where has the time gone? Daddy and I are so proud of you, Emily. We love your humor, smart mind, kind heart, and gentle spirit. We love when you get excited and run around like a crazy person. We love how terrific you are with Grant. We seriouly cannot say enough about this...you really know him and know his needs/wants and you do your best to help him. You talk to him nicely, have an amazing amount of patience for him, and just really love him. I can't wait to see your love multiply for your new baby brother in Oct. We could go on and on, Emily. It has been such a wonderful year and tt will be a fun year ahead seeing how you grow and change, We hope that God continues to mold your little spirit and I pray He becomes more and more real to you.
Some other things that you enjoy doing or characterize you currently are:
*ballet moves...you start in "1st position" and then do a spin and then you bow with your eyes closed...and you do it all the time...in the grocery store at almost every turn, when I am cooking dinner, etc. You love an audience and a clap when you perform these moves.
*puzzles...you are fantanstic at puzzles. Elena gave you a 70 piece Toy Story puzzle that I thought you would need help with, but you just zoom through it all by yourself.
*"School Work"...you are enjoying learning to read. You are beginning to understand how to sound out words and then say them fast to read a word. You know how to write almost all your letters and you know most letter's sounds.
*Anything "princess" catches your eye...trash cans, balls, pillows, purses, etc. and you want them all.
*When we have a playdate at our house, you and your little friends dress up...Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, etc.
*Taking care of your babies...you like to "put them to sleep" in your room with the curtains closed, "Praise Baby" CD playing, and you sometimes even read them a book and sing them a song. So cute.
*Bringing people "sugar plum tea" (with cinnamon and sugar) and treats. And your are always asking if we want refills. You would be a great waitress.
*Dresses and headbands...if you could wear these everyday, you would be thrilled. But, mommy likes to remain in some sort of control, so occasionally you are seen in shorts and a ponytail. ;)
*Great eater...you eat whatever mommy cooks (maybe not tons of it, but you are willing to at least try everything!).
*Telling "jokes"...if you could call them that.?.? You and Tanner think they are hysterical.
*Playing games...Go Fish and Memory are favorites right now, but you enjoy Candyland, The Mickey Mouse game, the games from the Highlights magazines, Don't Break the Ice, Ants in Your Pants, etc.
*Playing outside...baseball (you have a future in baseball...you are awesome at hitting daddy's pitches!), frisbee, hide-and-seek, super bouncy ball, freeze tag, and playing the sprinkler.
*Dancing at the "ball" with Daddy.
*Coloring...you are really getting good at coloring different parts of pictures different colors and staying in the lines.
*Sports...you are always asking to go to games (baseball, volleyball, football, soccer, tennis). If there is a game on TV you are interested and ask who we are cheering for, and have an amazing attention span at live sporting events.
*You want to be the "winner"...you have such a little competitive spirit and want to win at anything you do...games, eating (you want to eat more than Grant), driving (you want to get somewhere 1st), tubing, etc. Once she said "We got you Gigi!" when you "beat" Gigi to her house.
Emily started her day with a doughnut...
Then family came over and she opened her cute new apron and Ariel costume...
And then we had Emily's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. I really wanted something that was not in our house (it just feels too tight with kids & parents) and being the end of June, we wanted something indoors. She LOVES Chuck E Cheese, so it was a winner.
Here is the cake that Gigi and I worked on...our take on a Princess Castle cake...
I wish I had more pictures of the rest of our friends that braved Chuck E Cheese with us...

Emily playing games...riding the horse is her favorite!
Party time! Pizza and cake!
Getting a "high 5" from Chuck E Cheese seemed to be a big deal! ;)
Emily and Daddy getting ready for the ticket blaster! Emily was a little nervous at first, but seemed to love it!
We can't wait to spend this year with you Emily and see how you will grow and change. I wish time would slow down! We love you, peanut!
