Finally catching up!!

Hola amigos y amigas! I'm working on my Spanish now--two languages down, six to go! :)

I'm finally catching up on my blog. So sorry I haven't written in so long. I have been spending so much time learning to walk that I just haven't had the energy to write! I took my first steps on Friday, August 3rd. I was in the aiport waiting for Mama's bags to come and I decided to show off in front of everyone! I can now take 6-7 steps without any help between Mama and Dada. I can even stop, and then keep going, and once I even turned and looked back at Mama, then turned back and kept walking to Dada! I hope you've all seen the two videos of me walking. If you haven't, tell Mama and Dada and they'll send them to you.

Grammy and Aunt Betsy Visit
I had such a good time when Grammy and Aunt Betsy came to town! I have fun with them... they spoil me!! They played with me and read me lots of books, and they even took me to the park to swing! In the evenings when Dada got home, we mostly went out to eat, and that was fun too--I still love restaurants, with all of the sounds, lights, and hustle & bustle!

Fun at the Baltimore Inner Harbor
The Saturday after they were here, my family and I drove to Baltimore to see Gigi, Grandpa, Aunt Lindsey, and Josh. The trip didn't start off too good--lots of traffic on the Beltway had Dada saying words I'd never heard before! (Like "rats" and "shucks" :) ). But finally, it cleared up and we got there. We had a great lunch, and Aunt Lindsey helped me chase pigeons around the patio where we ate. Then we walked around the Inner Harbor.
We found a beautiful grassy area in the shade that we all sat in. I wasn't too sure at first about the grass--I've never really sat on grass before, and I'm used to sitting on blankets when I'm outside. I was so unsure about it that I sat with one leg up in the air. I would have held both up if I could have! I didn't like the feel of it. Then, finally Gigi convinced me that it really wasn't that bad. Soon, I was crawling all over the place and Dada was running just trying to keep up with me! It ended up being really, really fun. One other thing I got a little more used to this time--Josh! I hadn't been too sure about him before, but I think he's an okay guy! At least I would crawl past him this time. One thing is for sure--he really makes Aunt Lindsey happy! We finished the day by getting a little ice cream--I shared a chocolate and vanilla twist with Mama and Dada! Then we headed back home, and Gigi, Grandpa, Aunt Lindsey, and Josh headed back to Reading.

Family Pictures
Yesterday morning, a good family friend named Karyn came over and took some pictures of me and Mama and Dada. She's starting her own photography business, and she's really really great! LET'S GO NATS!
Today, I got to go to my very first big league ball game! Some of Dada's friends from work got tickets to the game, and Mama and Dada wanted to get out of the house for the afternoon just in case anybody came by to look at the house (unfortunately, no one did today but we're all still praying for just the right buyer to come!). We didn't get to the game until the middle of the fifth inning, but that was just about right. I had my own seat--section 456, row 1, seat 8. I liked sitting in it much more than sitting in Mama or Dada's lap! I had a lot of fun--watching the players on the field, the flags on top of the stadium, the birds flying around, and the man walking around with the cooler of ice selling grown-up sippy cups! I had my own snack--organic dried apples and dill pickles! Yummm yumm! Unfortunately, the Nats didn't win, but at least I got a free smooshy baseball when I left the stadium! I was a really good girl on the way to the game and home.
I'm really going to try to do better about writing more often! I miss everybody and can't wait to see you when I'm in San Marcos and Dallas next month!

Love,
Em
