Oh, the Wonderful Bahamas...

Clay, Carol, Lindsey, Josh, Seth and I went to the Bahamas July 6-11.  We went to the Great Exuma island and stayed at the Sandals Emerald Bay.  Oh my...it was wonderful.  I can't say enough about the trip.  We stayed for 5 nights...I hadn't been away from the kids for 5 nights...ever!  I missed them terribly, but I knew they were in good hands with Grammy and Grandpa Billy.  (More on that later).  I was super nervous when we flew in...we were flying over the littlest island and I didn't see much sign of life...and being pregnant, I was a little worried.  We landed on what seemed like a little street and then proceeed to their "airport" which was really just a little yellow house. ;)  (The nervousness continued).  Before I knew it, we were in a cab (I was in the front and Seth was in the back with a newlywed couple) and we were driving to the resort.  I didn't see much to speak of as we drove down the road.  (The nervousness still continued).  THEN, we pulled up in front of the resort and oh my, it was beautiful, and then I started to relax.  Each couple had their own room and they were really nice.  Big comfy beds, super nice bathrooms, and we had a butler!  It felt a little weird to me, but I was kind of getting used to Nelson when it was time to head back home.  The resort gave us a cell phone to use to call our butlers...and we called for chocolate chip cookies, chicken wings, pizza, etc.  (Obviously, I wasn't watching my weight on this trip...since it was all-inclusive and I couldn't drink because of the baby, I felt entitled to a lot of food! ;) )  We basically spent our days eating, lounging by the pool, eating, playing at the beach (riding the 3-wheel bike things, "surfboading", some snorkeled), eating, napping, reading books, getting fun frozen drinks, and eating some more.  One day, our crew did head out on a little snorkeling excursion, which I really enjoyed.  Our crew also had our fair share of frozen drinks (some without alcohol!) and our favorite was the Miami Vice...yum, yum!!!  All that to say, it was so relaxing, and I loved it.  We would sometimes eat our meals all together and sometimes Seth and I ate by ourselves...it was a perfect balance.  The ONLY bad part of the trip were the no-see-ums (I have no idea how you spell that!).  They are tiny tiny bugs that love to bite my legs and make me itch like crazy!!!  I carried a bottle of bug spray and benadryl with me everywhere I went.  I could definitely do without those next time...I wonder if there is a season when they disappear?   Oh, the 2nd bad part of the trip was when my dear sweet husband was 2 seconds away from going on a "shark dive" with his scuba diving class...luckily, he made a wise decision and stayed by the pool with me. ;)  Here are a lot of our pics from the trip...
